The Ridgeway is an odd set up. I have used another Hospital in the BMI group for years but have recently moved to the area and the Ridgeway is my closest private hospital. The parking is awful but, in fairness any hospital is like this. The reception area and waiting room is old and the chairs are very dirty and looking old. The Xray staff in the reception area are terrible with one exception, however the actual radiographers are very nice indeed as are the blood takers. The rooms or at least the room I stayed in was awful, very old and worn, holes in the wall, hardly any power sockets, the bed was very old and uncomfortable, it shouldn't even be allowed to have patients in it. The nursing staff were truly excellent and did a great job. All in all the staff in the hospital are nice but there are some that I would suggest have been there for a long time who are not so nice and I have come across the not so nice ones more than the nice staff. The food was okay, The menu was very short with not a lot of choice. When the food did turn up the portions were tiny and I mean tiny although it was fresh. In saying this I have found this across the board with private hospitals, they just skimp on the food and the portions. Would I stay there again? No, I wouldn't. I would much rather travel an extra 20 minutes and stay at another hospital. I have a big operation coming up and will go to Reading to a different group and another hospital that has been recommended. Looking at the reviews, it's okay the hospital saying call this person and number to give more feedback but obviously nothing gets done as I have had the same problems as people months ago. So, no more Ridgeway for me.

Operation was great but the treatment before it was abysmal! Hot room, window only opens 3 inches, didn't even get offered a drink let alone any food. I asked for a drink after 3 hours and got brought a lovely silver jug on a silver tray with lukewarm tap water inside would much rather be in a nhs hospital

Private Hospital. 5 star services all the way.

Food is rubbish (if you get any), rooms are old fashioned, parking is abysmal and negligence caused me to have to have another operation
